What does my editing service include?

A thorough and comprehensive check of the text – for grammar, typographical mistakes, punctuation and consistency of spelling.

In addition I ensure that the text makes sense and is clear for the reader. With the exception of highly technical legal, medical or scientific texts (which I do not take on), all texts should be understandable by an intelligent layman with a basic understanding of the subject.

I am happy to ensure compatibility with any style guide – whether provided by my client or a standard one. If no specification is given I use the Oxford Dictionary for Writers and Editors to check spellings.

Equally, I will gladly format references to meet the requirements of a specified style guide.

All texts are edited by me personally. If I do not have time to take on your project I will say so and recommend a trusted colleague.
